The No-Fail Method To Write A Great Dissertation Conclusion

You do spend a lot of time working on your dissertation, and for that reason there is nothing as bad as failing to deliver when you have done all you can to make sure that your paper turns out just fine. This is the challenge that happens with a lot of students when they are writing the conclusion for their work.

Over the years we have come to realize that so many students do not really know how to conclude their dissertation. Even after putting in a lot of effort, when it comes to finishing the paper off the way they should, a lot of students basically keep struggling and before long, they lose marks that they should not have.

Interestingly enough, the conclusion is not even supposed to be a challenge. It is a really brief chapter whose content is not supposed to give you a hard time at all. It is so easy to write such that you can even borrow ideas from the introduction and other parts of your paper to make it stand out. The following are some of the top reasons why you need to pay attention to the conclusion, and simple tips that will help you make your paper one of the best so far:

  • Summarize the paper

  • Refrain from introducing new ideas

  • Mirror your introductory chapter

  • Summarize the paper

One of the most important things about the conclusion is the fact that it is supposed to be a section where you give a summary of the paper. Focus on and highlight the major issues that you have discussed in such a manner that the reader is reminded of what has been done in the paper.

    Refrain from introducing new ideas

Whatever you do in this paper, always make sure that you refrain from bringing in new ideas. You can do that in the recommendations chapter, but do not do that with the conclusion. It will only serve to show the reader that your paper is not over, or that you do not know what you are doing, and both of them are worse at this stage in the academic cycle.

    Mirror your introductory chapter

If you are not sure what to do, try and go back to the introduction. There are lots of ideas that you will have used here that you can also use in the conclusion. Of course your chances will be much better if you wrote a really good introduction.
